We usually get the Casper Journal in the mail on Wednesdays. I got my copy. But wouldn't you know it, that was the one week it failed for whatever reason to arrive in my Mom and Dad's mailbox. So, they marched themselves down that very afternoon to the paper company and requested a copy. They came home with a stack of a dozen. All my brother could say about the article was that I'll forever be associated with the funny little cartoon at the bottom of the page entitled "Wott Remains." Weird.


Anyway, my thanks again to Elysia Conner (congratulations and good luck) as well as to all the readers of the article and the book.

Author Interview

I just returned from an interview for one of the local newspapers, The Casper Journal. The reporter, Elysia, was excellent. She asked a lot of good questions.  I tried to focus on my writing and on how reading can help open new windows on the world, rather like the cover of my novella showing a casement open to the wonders of dreaming beyond night and day. Anyhow, I felt a bit hesitant with all the personal information, but I hope I did all right in the end and that the article turns out.

Read Across America

"Read Across America" was a great success this year. I joined other alumni from my old elementary school and read "Oh, The Places You'll Go!" in the gym. Then we and a bunch of other volunteers scattered into the classrooms and read from other Dr. Seuss selections. What a wonderful way to celebrate his birthday and to celebrate the love of reading.

The Absent Willow Review is closing

The Absent Willow Review, a speculative fiction e-zine, is closing in a few days, so anyone interested in reading my story, "Yesterdays Tomorrows," ought to visit before it's too late. There's plenty of other science fiction, fantasy, and horror pieces to check out as well.

It's too bad the magazine is closing. It was a humble "unedited, unpaid" venue for authors and artists to share their work, but it still published some good stories along with some really intriguing artwork over the past three years. Let's all visit and give it a good farewell.
